My Nutrition Approach
Real Change is Possible
Where I Started...
I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. I worked in both the hospital and outpatient environments for the over a decade and I have extensive experience monitoring lab work and working with physicians to adjust medications. I learned a great deal in the clinical environment, but I was predominantly treating the symptoms, and not addressing the root cause.
...Where it Led
Now, in my own practice, I take a whole body approach to wellness. Poor nutrition, life stressors, medical events (pregnancy, miscarriage, births) and our environment are all factors that influence our health. Using your medical and nutrition history, combined with strategic functional testing, I uncover the root cause of symptoms like bloating, skin issues, poor digestion, painful periods, and frustrating weight gain.
Hormone imbalance is often a byproduct of poor nutrition and unmanaged stress, and although not a root cause itself, needs to be addressed. Female-specific hormones (estrogen and progesterone) can affect digestion and overall gut health. When our hormones are off, it's our body's way of telling us something else is off too. It is in our interest to pay attention.
The gut microbiome is hugely responsible for our overall health, including metabolism and immune function, and more than 70% of Americans have some kind of digestive issue. Therefore, restoring gut health is essential to restoring overall health. Women are more likely to have digestive issues than men.
Is This You?
Real change is possible, but it takes commitment and consistency. It also takes knowing where, and how, to start. I am here to support you on your way to improved digestion, symptom relief, more energy, better mood, hormone balance, and increased metabolism.
That means an in-depth diet and medical history review, appropriate functional testing, personalized meal planning, and strategic supplements when indicated.
I've been privileged to be a part of many successful journeys, and I am always amazed by the relationships forged along the way. I would love to be part of yours.
